Family Ministry
What is a Family Ministry?
The Family Ministry at Brookhaven Church encompasses all ministries that involve families that have children from infants through high school. Our goal is to connect familes with each other and support their growth in Christ. Our strategy involved the following steps:
- Working to integrate a unified teaching approach from birth through high school.
- Partering with Parents to provide take home resources and equipping to support them in their role of leading their children's spritual growth. We also provide role models who build relationships with the children and reinforce what parents teach them at home by saying the same things the parents are saying to their kids.
- Providing shared experiences for families to connect with each other and other families.
Once a month we get families together to have some fun. We may have a picnic, do a project, or hit the pool. One thing is sure, we have a fun time together and get to know other familes.
Parenting Classes
We provide environments where other parents can get together to learn from a facilitator and each other about what is working and where challenges lie in leading their children.
Small Group Fellowships
Our small groups with parents get together about once a month and usually bring the kids along so they get a chance to play with other kids and parents get a chance to visit with other parents.
