Our small groups have begun a four-week study on the book of Deuteronomy, and we launched this series with a lesson built on Deuteronomy 6:4-9, where Moses urged the people of Israel to love God with all their heart, soul, and strength. Our teenagers discussed what it meant to lead a God-centered life, and students were challenged to commit to living that way.
As you go through the week, you can keep this theme alive in your life by looking for the opportunity to ask these or similar questions:
- Why is it important to live a life focused on God? What is the alternative?
- How do our interactions as a family with one another show what truly matters to us?
- Is there anything our family can be doing to become more outwardly focused in showing the world that Christ is the center of our lives?
