Advancing the Kingdom by Grace

Over the next five weeks our church family is going to ask Jesus what He wants us to do over the next three years to advance the mission He has given us of making disciples in McKinney and all around the world. This time of seeking His will together we are calling the Advancing the Kingdom campaign.

Why are we beginning the Campaign?

God’s Word teaches if God’s people unite together in faith around a clearly communicated plan that is aligned with His will for His glory, then nothing will be impossible for us.

Therefore the purpose for this campaign is to:
  • Clearly communicate what we believe to be God’s plan for His glory.
  • Encourage every member to seek the Lord personally to confirm if this is His direction and ask what He would have them do.
  • Unite together at the end of this five-week emphasis to commit to accomplish these plans by faith.

When is this Campaign happening?

Vision Sunday
Apr 12th
The Advancing the Kingdom Campaign Launch
Giving Generously
Apr 19th
A life of generous giving turns every dollar into an eternal investment, allowing you to share in the impact and reward of every life transformed through God’s work.
Reaching Out
Apr 26th
Reaching out matters more than we think—while most people are open and even willing to come to church, far too few ever receive a simple personal invitation.
Asking God
May 3rd
Every believer is invited to seek the Lord personally, asking Him to make His direction clear and to show them their part in what He is doing.
Connecting with Others
May 10th
When people get connected in groups and ministry teams, they experience real community, find encouragement and care, and begin to discover where they belong and how God can use them.
Celebration Sunday
May 17th
Join us for a special one-service gathering under the tent at 10:30a as we worship together, give our First Fruits offering, and celebrate the start of a new season as one church family.

How do I get involved in the Campaign?

We aim to Advance the Kingdom by G.R.A.C.E. In this acrostic, each letter represents a specific way you can take part in this campaign.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why a three-year campaign?

A three-year window allows our church family to give "over and above" their regular tithes by spreading their commitment out. This makes larger goals achievable through consistent, prayerful giving rather than a one-time sacrificial gift.

Is this in addition to my regular tithe?

Yes. Our general budget funds the day-to-day ministries, staff, and utilities that keep our church running. This campaign is a special "vision fund" specifically for the goals outlined in the GRACE acrostic. We ask that you maintain your regular giving so our current ministries continue to thrive.

What if I can’t give a large amount?

This campaign is about equal sacrifice, not equal gifts. God looks at the heart and the proportion of the gift, not the dollar amount (Mark 12:41-44). Our goal is 100% participation; every gift, no matter the size, is vital to reaching our common goal.

Can I give non-cash gifts?

Absolutely. You can contribute through stocks, bonds, real estate, or other assets. Please reach out to the church office to contact Mike Mossburg or Ryan Mullin if you would like to discuss the tax benefits and process for non-cash donations.

What happens if we exceed our financial goal?

Praise God! Any funds raised beyond our primary goal will be used to accelerate debt retirement / expand our mission outreach.

How were the goals determined?

Our pastor, staff, deacons and Advancing the Kingdom Leadership Team have all prayed and worked together for months in seeking the Lord’s will and what He would like to do in and through our church over the next three years. These goals reflect what our church leadership believes the Lord wants us to work together for.

When do I start giving toward my commitment?

Our "First Fruits" offering will be on May 17th. However, you can begin fulfilling your three-year commitment any time after Commitment Sunday on May 10th

How should I decide what to give?

Spend time in prayer. Ask God not 'What can I afford?' but 'What would You have me do?' This is a journey of faith for all of us.

Can I give to our Advancing the Kingdom Campaign online?

Yes. You can give to it here:
